On the occasion of Janmashtami, Baba Mahakal was adorned with the divine form of Lord Krishna, and a large number of devotees visited.

Ujjain. On Friday, the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of Bhadrapad month, a Bhasma Aarti (devotee’s ash arti) was performed for Baba Mahakal at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. A large number of devotees gathered in the temple premises to witness this supernatural spectacle. Early Friday morning, after seeking permission from Lord Veerbhadra, the doors of Baba Mahakal were opened to the accompaniment of drums and cymbals. Following the divine adornment and Bhasma Aarti, as devotees witnessed Baba, the entire temple complex reverberated with chants of “Jai Shri Mahakal.” The temple complex reverberated with bells, conch shells, and chants.
